Educational Background


Engr. Kim Janzel D. Obdin earned her Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Bataan Peninsula State University, where she built a strong foundation in design, thermofluids, and manufacturing. As an undergraduate, she actively engaged in research and innovation projects, notably contributing to the development of a solar-powered portable water distillation device aimed at addressing water scarcity.
She is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering at De La Salle University – Manila, where she continues to explore sustainable technologies and advanced engineering solutions aligned with environmental and societal needs.
Work Experience
Engr. Kim Janzel D. Obdin has a diverse background in research, education, and public service. She previously served as a Science Research Specialist at the Department of Science and Technology – Science and Technology Information Institute (DOST-STII), where she was involved in technology promotion and science communication. She also worked under DOST-TAPI as a Project Assistant, contributing to the commercialization and validation of bamboo-based biocomposite technologies to support local industries.
Alongside her research roles, she has served as a part-time instructor at Bataan Peninsula State University, teaching advanced engineering courses such as Dynamics of Rigid Bodies and 3D Manufacturing. Her work has consistently focused on integrating sustainability, innovation, and capacity-building in both academic and industry settings.
